Minister Sven Gatz has awarded Middelkerke the label of child-friendly municipality. It is now the first and only coastal municipality with this label
Comic Book Walls
The first two comic book walls are finished! You can admire the Robbedoes cartoon by Hanco Kolk at the Calidris in Westende and the Lucky Luke cartoon by the original spiritual father Morris at De Branding centre in Middelkerke

From the Warande tower you get the most beautiful view over Middelkerke: the Warande gardens, the beach, the sea, the Beaufort art, the hinterland ... When the weather is nice you can see and enjoy miles.
Mountainbikeroute Norbert Dedeckere
A beautiful route of about 30 kilometers with technical singel tracks, winding through the beautiful dunes of Middelkerke / Westende.
