Peter Depelchin's drawings and installations are rooted in Western culture and tell universal stories. He developed his own visual language, strongly referring to classic iconographic elements or recognizable oriental fantasies linked to his own experiences. Besides his trajectory full of knights and castles, Babylonians and Syrians, mythological animals or phallic symbols, he also brings architectural drawings or wooden installation constructions. It seems as if he creates a spatial decor with pencil, pen, Chinese ink, gold paint or bister on paper or patterns with wooden slats and lines. His oeuvre simultaneously breathes something personal as something general human, at the same time something historical as something visionary in a variety of materials.
